Needing Tennessee Service Hours or volunteer hours for your college admission application?
Narrow Ridge has been hosting youth volunteer opportunities for many years.
We have a variety of ways you can earn your volunteer hours AND help Narrow Ridge with our mission.
Lend a hand
Supervised and self-directed volunteer opportunities abound at Narrow Ridge. Whether solo, with a friend or a group, our volunteer projects typically support one or more of our 3 foundational pillars: sustainability, community and spirituality. On-site options for giving a few hours, a half day or a full day include:
- Organic gardening
- Wilderness trail maintenance
- Labyrinth weeding
- Hogskin Creek and Norris Lake clean up
- Help with our annual fall Hogskin History Day celebration
- and more!
Local Group Service experiences
Our group volunteer programming is immersed in nature, educational, fun and empowering.
Local scouting or church youth groups can take on projects such as making log benches, flora ID markers and more. Tour Narrow Ridge and discuss a project with us. Over the coming months, work on your group project and return to Narrow Ridge for a celebratory install event.
Hogskin History Day offers many opportunities to support Narrow Ridge!
- Contribute goods, gift certificates and/or services to our door prize giveaway.
- Bake goodies for our Cake Walk
- Participate with a booth that spotlights sustainability or the local Hogskin Valley community.
- Sponsor the day through financial support or employee volunteers.
Immersion Service Experience
Church and school based youth service trips (preferably 3-6 nights) provide several days of ‘unplugged’ sustainability-focused service projects and activities that invite a deeper connection with Earth.
Work together to make it happen
Committee’s are powerful change makers when they have wise leaders guiding a group of motivated followers.
Serve on one of our committees!
